Amr El-Abassy is an accomplished investment and finance executive with over 20 years of experience across venture capital, SME finance, and impact investment. He currently serves as General Manager of EdVentures, a leading Corporate Venture Capital fund focused on early-stage EdTech startups in Egypt and the MENA region. Throughout his career, Amr has led end-to-end investment processes, designed acceleration programs, and built strategic partnerships with governments, development institutions, and corporates. Previously, he held senior roles at DAI/USAID Business Egypt, SEAF Impact Invesment Fund – Washington DC, and MSMEDA (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency) where he helped shape Egypt’s Venture and SME finance ecosystem. Amr holds an MBA in Banking & Finance and is a graduate of the Venture Capital Executive Program at UC Berkeley. He also holds multiple certifications in Private Equity, Climate Finance, and Business Model Innovation. Mark Mouris is a Senior Investment Banking Analyst with over three years of experience in M&A and corporate finance across Egypt and the MENA region. Mark was also the winner of the 2023 CFA Research Challenge in the MENA region.
